200 tons of Vietnams lychees find way to Thailand
The first batch of lychees will be shipped to Thailand by air, according to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang Province.

Until June 19, the province has sold 125,630 tons of lychees, fetching revenue of VND3, 411.4 billion (US$150 million). Among those, the turnover from lychees reached VND2,046.8 billion while that of supporting service hit VND1,364.6 billion.
China is the main importer of Vietnam's lychee
Luc Ngan Lychees are currently priced at VND12,000-35,000 per kilogram by categories. China remains the main lychee buyer of Vietnam, with nearly 36,500 tons of the fruit sent to the neighboring market, resulting in turnover of US$64.1 million.
Domestically, the main outlet markets for lychees are big cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, etc. Solely in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region, total consumption through the Saigon.Coop's retail chain reached more than 300 tons.
Currently, among about 1,650 enterprises are in Luc Ngan to purchase lychees, 150 ones from China and more than 1,000 ones from Vietnam.
Besides China, the fruit finds way to reach Singapore, Thailand and Australia, etc.
Tran Quang Tan, Head of Bac Giang’s Department of Industry and Trade told Zing.vn that some Vietnamese firms distributed lychees with volume of 35 tons, 1.1 tons, 1.5 tons to Australia, Europe and Japan, respectively.
The export volume of Luc Ngan lychees to Thailand is expected to triple this year compared to last year. “On June 20, Phong Son Tiem Ntd.Co will ship 200 tons of lychees to Thailand by air. These products would be sold through retail chain of Thailand,” Tan said.
