Bac Giang develops brand of Hiep Hoa peanut

The Department of Science and Technology has informed that the Science Technology Consulting Council in Bac Giang province assigned Vietnam Intelligence for Study, Application and Science Technology Management Company Limited (Vinaintech) to implement a provincial-level project entitled “Building, managing and developing the brand of “Hiep Hoa peanut”.

The business will prepare a profile to register the brand certification for the product and build a system and conditions to manage and tap the brand value after protection registration while developing a pilot model of effective brand management, usage and exploitation.

Hiep Hoa has about 2,100 ha of peanuts, mostly in the communes of Ngoc Son, Danh Thanh, Thuong Thang and Hung Son...with an expected output of 4,600 tonnes per year.

To develop this product, the district has planned to encourage local farmers to shift to grow peanut on hill areas suffering water shortages.
