Bac Giang estimates to harvest 45,000 tonnes of early ripen lychee

Bac Giang province grows more than 6,000 ha of early ripen lychee in the districts of Tan Yen, Yen The, Luc Ngan and Luc Nam. The favourable weather this year resulted in high flowering and fruit bearing rate, hence the province is expecting for a bumper harvest.

Phuc Hoa early ripen lychee in Tan Yen district is at early fruiting stage and harvested on May 10.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), the early ripen lychee areas are mostly in the early fruiting stage with expected output of 45,000 tonnes of fruits, up 5,000 tonnes comparing to the same period last year.

As schedule, the lychee will be harvested on May 10.

To ease the product consumption, the DARD has coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to promote the lychee sale including early ripen fruit.

Due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, the export may encounter a lot of barriers, so the competent agencies have focused on exploiting domestic markets.
