Connecting the consumption of agricultural products in Dong Thap province

The online forum 'Connecting the consumption of agricultural products in Dong Thap province 2021', organized by MARD, will take place on October 16, 2021.

Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, the Deputy Minister of The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is to preside in the forum.

The Executive Team of the Agricultural Products Connection Forum 970 (under MARD) will coordinate with the People’s Committee of Dong Thap province to organize “Connecting the consumption of agricultural products in Dong Thap province 2021” online forum through the application of Zoom format.

The forum will occur in 2 sessions on the same day, October 16: Plenary Session from 8:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m, Trading Session presided by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Dong Thap province from 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.

The forum will receive the attendance of the representative leader of MARD, Working Group 970; representatives of The Executive Team of the Agricultural Products Connection Forum 970.

At The People’s Committee of Dong Thap province bridge point, there will be the attendance of representatives of The People’s Committee of Dong Thap province; the DARD; Department of Industry and Trade; Farmer Association; Provincial Cooperative Alliance, Provincial Business Association.

The bridge points of districts, towns, cities of Dong Thap province will have representatives from the People’s Committee of the localities of the province.

The forum will also have the attendance of the representatives from associations, buyers, supermarkets, distributers, import export and logistics enterprises in the country and abroad, e-commerce enterprises, cooperatives, farms from the province.

This is the seventh session of The Agricultural Products Connection Forum 970. The forum establishment is directed by Mr. Le Minh Hoan, the Minister of MARD, in the spirit of inheriting the connection operation, agricultural products consumption of The Working Group 970.

The goal is to form and link the production, processing, harvesting, circulation, consumption of agricultural products… Thereby, these forums help forming a tight, multi-direction relationship of “connection - cooperation” between governing department with business and farmers.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic rampaging in complicated way, many productions, supplies, circulations and consumptions processes of agricultural products in cities and provinces got stuck, the forum will assist in the solutions of the 3 existing issues of the country agricultural industry.

Specifically, they are: (1) Correcting the choking point of a production that is “fragmented, minuscule, spontaneous”. (2) Determine policies, searching, negotiating, connecting the market for agricultural products consumption. (3) Improve the leading, orientating role of businesses in agricultural production, in order to manufacture quality-ensured, safe, reliable products, meeting the increasing and diversification demand of the markets.
