Export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached nearly US$ 43.5 billion

The export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at nearly US$ 43.5 billion in 11 the last months of 2021, up 14.2% over the same period last year.
Nearly US$ 43.5 billion of export turnover after 11 months
According to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the last 11 months of 2021, the total export and import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at nearly US$ 82.67 billion, up 24.7% over the same period last year.
In November, export turnover was estimated at about US$ 4.2 billion, up 8.9% compared to November 2020 and up 5.8% compared to October 2021. In the last 11 months of 2021, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at nearly US$ 43.5 billion, up 14.2% over the same period last year.
In which, the export of main agricultural products is estimated at over US$ 19.3 billion, up 13.7%; the export of main forest products reached about US$ 14.3 billion, up 20.9%; the export of seafood reached over US$ 7.9 billion, up 3.5%; the export of livestock production was estimated at US$ 393 million, up 4.0%; the export of production input group over US$ 1.5 billion, up 25.9%.
In 11 months, many products and groups of products with increased export value are coffee, rubber, rice, vegetables and fruits, pepper, cashew nut, cassava and cassava products, livestock products; wooden product; rattan, bamboo, sedge carpet; cinnamon, etc.
In which, rubber, cashew nut, cassava and cassava products increased both in export volume and value. The average export price in 11 months of many items also increased.
The export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the last 11 months of the year to markets in Asia accounted for 43.1% of the market share, the Americas was 29.6%, Europe was 11.5%, Africa 1.9% and Oceania 1.6%.
The largest export market is the United States with over US$ 11.9 billion (accounting for 27.5% market share), of which the export turnover of wood and wood products accounted for 67.2% of the export turnover. Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports to this market.
The second largest is the Chinese market with nearly US$ 8.4 billion (accounting for 19.2% of the market share) with the export turnover of vegetables and fruits accounting for 23.3% of the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products.
The third largest is the Japanese market with an export value of nearly US$ 3 billion (accounting for 6.9%) and the largest group of export goods is wood products (accounting for 43% of the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products).
The fourth largest is the South Korean market with an export value of about US$ 1.9 billion (accounting for 4.4%) and the largest group of export goods is also wood products (accounting for 42.5% of the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products).
Import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 11 months is estimated at US$ 39.18 billion, up 39.0% over the same period in 2020.
In which, the import value of main agricultural products is estimated at US$ 24.9 billion, up 54.2%; the import value of livestock products reached over US$ 3.1 billion, down 1.8%; the import value of aquatic products is estimated at US$ 1.8 billion, up 11.0%; the import value of the main group of forest products about US$ 2.8 billion, up 260.5%; the import value of group of production inputs over US$ 6.6 billion, up 33.6%.
In the last 11 months of 2021, the trade surplus was nearly US$ 4.3 billion, down 56.5% over the same period last year.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery products were imported mostly from Asia (about US$ 11.8 billion, accounting for 30.2%) and the Americas (about US$ 9.4 billion, accounting for 24.1%). The United States continues to be the largest export market of agricultural products to Vietnam, reaching nearly US$ 3.5 billion, accounting for 8.9% of the market share (of which cotton accounts for 35.5% of the value). Next is Cambodia with about US$ 3.3 billion, accounting for 8.5% (cashew products account for nearly 61.7%).
Opening the agricultural market to the world
In the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to promote the activities of 2 Working Groups (South and North) to direct and guide the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with ministries, associations, industries, enterprises, cooperatives, etc. urgently implement solutions to remove obstacles in circulation, production, processing and consumption of agricultural products.
The MARD will also regularly organize, coordinate and participate in online forums and conferences to connect supply and demand, promote agricultural product consumption, and develop commodity industries.
The agricultural sector continues to promote the opening of agricultural markets with countries such as Peru, Australia, Brazil, China, the United States, ASEAN, Russia, and the Czech Republic; organize an online forum to promote agricultural and seafood trade cooperation between Vietnam and the Russia; develop a plan to implement the tasks of implementing the Project "Strengthening capacity on trade remedies in the context of participating in new generation free trade agreements".
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will guide agencies and businesses to improve their documents and continue to introduce enterprises to export to China; update 63 notices of SPS measures of the WTO Secretariat, including 48 notices of consultation with WTO members, 15 regulations related to food safety and animal and plant quarantine; handling 4 warnings from the EU; complete 1 draft dossier of notice and send it to the WTO Secretariat.
