Strong rise in farm exports via Lang Son border gate

Vietnam exported 1.6 million tons of agricultural products to China through the Lang Son border gate and imported 200,000 tons of similar products via the channel during the first half of this year, according to the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Specifically, more than 60,000 tons of fresh lychees, 10,000 dried lychees, 30,000 tons of dragon fruit, and 200,000 tons of mangoes were shipped to China through this border gate.

The main products imported from the neighbouring market were fruit such as apples, pears, oranges and mandarins.

The statistics showed that Vietnam’s exports of agricultural products to China via Lang Son was four times higher than those from China to our country in the 2015-2016 period.

However, that rate saw an eight-fold increase this year, giving a good sign to the agricultural sector, as Vietnam has often suffered a trade deficit with the huge market in recent years.
