Use NPK As An Effective Mineral Fertilizer In Your Garden!

Nitroammophos (NPK) is a popular agrochemical known to many summer residents.

But do we all know about him? Let’s understand.

Azofosca belongs to a class of drugs harmless to humans and animals. When using it, you do not need to wear protective clothing, but not all gardeners are ready to use this agrochemical in their area. Is it so dangerous for NPK and how to apply it correctly?

Is it worth it to be afraid of nitrates?

Many summer residents are afraid to use mineral fertilizers because of them, root crops and other vegetables accumulate nitrates. But in fact, this happens only with an excess of fertilizers. From the right doses, plants only benefit.

And even in spite of the fact that the second name of NPK is nitroammophoska, one should not be frightened of this drug. The word “nitro” means only that phosphates, nitrogen and potassium (active substances) enter the chemical in the nitrate form. This allows plants to absorb the necessary amount of useful substances for them.

Rules for the application of NPK fertilizer

To nitrate does not accumulate in plants that feed the nitroammophous, you must observe the 3 main rules.

1. Fertilizers should be introduced only in accordance with the norm – so the elements in the nitrate form will be fully absorbed. If you go too far with the amount, their excess will accumulate in different parts of the plant, including fruit.

2. It is important to alternate organic and mineral top dressing. If from year to year to use chemicals, they will begin to accumulate in the soil. As for NPK, it is not recommended to feed crops more than 2 years in a row.

Manure also contains nitrate compounds. Therefore, it is best to use compost or vermicompost from organic fertilizers for alternating with mineral fertilizers.

3. Under no circumstances should NPK be introduced into cold soil. In the spring, fertilizer should not be used before the end of May. In autumn it should be done not later than the first half of September. Because of lack of heat, nitrates accumulate in the upper layer of the soil and then are immediately absorbed by the roots of the plants.

Azofosk can be made for any vegetables, fruit and berry trees and shrubs, flowers (including pottery). Also, this drug is used as the main fertilizer for potatoes. Nitroammophoska is shown for fertilizing seedlings, as it stimulates the development of the root system and strengthens the green mass of young plants.

1. Since NPK is a universal fertilizer, it can be used on any type of soil and in any climate.

2. Azofosca is very economical: it is inexpensive, and on 1 square meter of soil, on average, about 40 g of fertilizer. It is not surprising that it is often used in agriculture.

3. Buy the drug at any gardening store.

If you have not found a sale of NPK, or nitroammofoski (which is the same thing), you can buy nitrophosphate. The principle of action of these drugs is similar, the difference is only in the quantitative ratio of components.

How to store NPK

As a rule, a relatively small amount of fertilizer is consumed in one season. In this case, the remainder is sent for storage. And although NPK is considered to be a drug safe for humans, something you need to know about its storage.

Azofosca does not ignite, does not burn and does not explode. However, in the event of a fire, it can release gaseous poisons.

The dust of the substance has an increased explosive hazard. With a large accumulation in a small room, it can ignite.

Azofosk should be stored in a dense plastic bag.

If the package is sealed (does not let air, moisture, and sunlight), then the drug can be stored for up to 18 months. In the open package, the NPK loses all its properties for half a year.

Azofosca is one of the most effective mineral fertilizers. And it’s up to you to use it on your site or not.
