VietGAP and VietGAP oriented tea output reaches over 2,100 tonnes in Yen The district

According to the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development in Yen The district (Bac Giang province), the district has grown 230 hectares of tea under VietGAP and VietGAP oriented methods mostly in Xuan Luong and Canh Nau communes this year.

The output is expected to hit over 2,100 tonnes of fresh tea buds that enjoy a smooth consumption with the selling price of 15 – 20,000 VND per kilogram (around 1 USD).

The locals harvest the VietGAP tea in Ven hamlet, Xuan Luong commune, Yen The district.

In order to improve the products’ value, the locals have used the automatic sprayers (dipping and misting), bioproducts, biofertilizers in the caring procedure as well as minimize the usage of plant protection product. The post-harvest products are preliminarily processed and packaged strictly as the procedure to ensure the hygiene and quality.

Yen The now has 522 hectares of tea cultivation and targets to develop about 200 new hectares, increase the VietGAP and VietGAP oriented tea to over 80 percent of the total areas by 2020.
