China topped the consumers of Vietnamese lychees, having bought around 68,000 tons valued at US$120.5 million up to June 27.

At present around 170 Chinese and more than 1,000 Vietnamese traders are purchasing lychees in Luc Ngan district. Tan Yen, Yen The and Lang Giang districts have all but sold out of the fruit.

The price of Luc Ngan lychees remains stable at around VND6,000-VND21,000 per kilo depending on the quality and appearance of the fruit. Meanwhile, the retail price of lychees in Ho Chi Minh city ranges from VND13,000-30,000 per kilo.
