60 models of hi-tech farming built in Bac Giang

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), this year Bac Giang province strives to build nearly 60 hi-tech farming models to grow the flowers and vegetables. To date, more farmers have registered than the plan with the scale of over 2,000 square meters per model, thus the DARD is verifying to select the suitable models.

Farmers grow the bell pepper in the nethouse of Yen Dung Clean Vegetable Cooperative in Tien Dung commune (Yen Dung district).

To implement the Resolution No.130-NQ/TU of the Party Committee’s Standing Commission dated on August 16,2016 about boosting up hi-tech application in agricultural production, the province has so far built 71 models mostly in the districts of Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang and Yen Dung that bring an average income of 200 – 300 million VND (8,600 – 12,900 USD) per hectares per year, nearly doubling the amount gained by normal production.

Vu Tri Dong, Vice Head of the provincial Division of Plant Production and Protection said: “The province strives to build 100 hi-tech farming models by 2020. With the current schedule, this target will be exceeded soon”.
