Citrus fruits yield over 50,000 tonnes in Luc Ngan district

According to the Division of Agriculture and  Rural Development in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province, the district has more than 6,400 hectares growing citrus trees. 

It’s harvest time for the yellow pulp orange in Tru Huu commune, Luc Ngan district.

Thanks to the intensive technique application, the locals are expecting for a bumper crop this year with an estimated output of over 50,000 tonnes, up nearly 10,000 tonnes of fruits comparing to the figure last year.

The communes with high productivity include Tan Moc, Hong Giang and Tan Quang. It’s now the harvest season for yellow pulp orange with the average price of 28,000 – 30,000 VND per kilogram (1.3 USD) sold at the orchard.

The farmers are expecting for a bumper crop this year.

To favor the product consumption, this year the local authority has continued launching several trading promotion measurements such as holding Luc Ngan fruit festival, supporting the product’s label and stamp to the enterprises and cooperatives who produce and consume the citrus fruits.
