Resolve difficulties in exporting agricultural and seafood products to India

This was discussed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quốc Hưng and his counterpart Anup Wadhawan from India at the bilateral meeting which was held on Feb 13 in India in a mutual attempt to boost the bilateral trade cooperation and exchange solutions to difficulties of Vietnam’s agricultural and seafood products going to India amid Covid-19 outbreak in China.

Deputy Minister Cao Quốc Hưng introduced the quality, advantages and competitiveness of Vietnam’s agricultural and seafood products especially dragon fruit and basa fish. Dragon fruit is the only fruit granted to go to India and only basa fish is competitive enough to penetrate into this market so far.

These products are produced following standards, quality and safety requirements; however the Covid-19 outbreak has been posing challenges on Vietnam exporting them.

Thus, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of India was kindly suggested to support the promotion and dissemination of Vietnam’s agricultural and seafood products especially dragon fruit and basa so that the Indian will consume them and Vietnamese farmers could overcome difficulties this time.
