Teleconference seeks to boost export opportunities for Vietnamese longans

An international online trade exchange to boost the export of Vietnamese longans is set to take place from July 15 to July 16 as part of the implementation of the National Trade Promotion Program in 2021.

The move also aims to assist local firms nationwide to gain more business opportunities with foreign importers whilst boosting connectivity with both domestic and foreign distribution channels.

The event is being co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and numerous Vietnamese trade offices in Australia, ASEAN countries, China, the United States, and Japan via Zoom and the Tencent platform, with the event set to feature participation of up to 80 local and foreign firms.

Businesses wishing to participate are recommended to register at the link http://event.vietrade.gov.vn/sukiennhanhungyen. In addition, they should send images that can introduce their products before 4:00 p.m. on July 6.

Last year saw the function attract the participation of over 70 businesses and foreign importers from India, Australia, the Republic of Korea, the US, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, and China, along with plenty of local enterprises from eight provinces and cities throughout the country.

According to details provided by the Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee, the province's longan output this year is anticipated to reach between 50,000 tonnes and 55,000 tonnes, a figure between 15% and 20% higher compared to last year.

As a means of facilitating the consumption of local agricultural products amid the complicated developments relating to the COVID-19 epidemic, the province plans to organise a conference in the locality scheduled for July 15 via both direct and online platforms which will connect three locations in Hanoi.
