What causes a wet nest box?
Ask yourself the following questions: What do I see? What does it mean? What should I do?

- LOOK: You see a lot of wet mess in this nest box.
- THINK: This can be a signal that there are soft shelled or shell-less eggs being produced. Sometimes, it is difficult to notice these eggs, because many do not get onto the egg belt and hens like to eat shell-less eggs. They are also easily trampled, causing a wet nest box.
- ACT: Check all nest boxes regularly and try to trace the cause. Is it in a particular part of the poultry house, it could be overcrowding in nest boxes. Is it a general problem: find out what causes week shells.
